Good Morning - August 20, 2008
So it is the middle of the week and it has not been too exciting of one. I had that date on last Friday. I thought it went well, but haven't heard from him since. I left him a message and a text message but nothing. Not sure what happened or didn't happen. Anyway, on with the hunt.
On other news I started a new art series. I am working on a retro style similar to the artist Brandon Ragnor, http://www.ragnarama.com/ragnar.html, but of course more focused on men. I think it will be a cool idea if I can pull it off.
I know it s short post, but not much going on, which might not be a bad thing.

"As a response earlier this week to revelations that Manhunt Chairman and founder Jonathan Crutchley (above, right) had maxed out his individual personal contributions to vocal gay rights opponent Senator John McCain ($2300) which we reported on Wednesday, Crutchley has apparently been pressured by the board of the company to step down as Chairman." Being Politically Correct - August 14, 2008
Okay so I admit it I have a profile on Manhunt. I am not ashamed to say it, more do than are willing to admit it. I am not going to discuss the issues of Manhunt, pros vs cons, etc. However, I do find myself in a dilemma (sort of a political ethics one) as one of the co-owners of MH is a staunch republican and has donated $2300 dollars to the John McCain campagn.
Now as Towleroad notes and I quote "....Jonathan Crutchley, who is raking in millions of dollars from gay men around the world and donating some of it to help elect a presidential candidate who opposes same-sex marriage and adoption by same-sex couples, supports "Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell," and opposes ENDA. He has also also said he doesn't know whether or not condoms prevent the spread of HIV."
So my dilemma is do I take down my profile or not? If I am not a paying member am I supporting him none the less even though he is not getting my money. Does the community need to boycott MH? Obviously not everyone at MH is republican or have those same values, the other co-owner donated money to the Obama campagn granted it was only a mere $250 vs the $2300. So I throw this out to you readers, what do you think on the issue?
To be (excited) or not to be - August 13, 2008
So is it too early to be excited about a date on Friday? Okay so we all know that I don’t always put a lot of faith in actually having a date with someone I chat with online or anywhere for that matter. (Okay actually I always secretly think positive thoughts; I just don’t want to give away my cynical Jewish side) Anyway, I got asked if I would like to meet up, which you hear online often and never really goes past that, the other day and I took the initiative and sent an email. To my surprise I got an actual call back and I have to say I got kind of a little anxiously excited during the call. First let me say the man is FINE! Not that I am bad looking but I was a bit surprised at the interest. So back to the call, yes he decided instead of sending an email to actually call and talk. I was impressed. He was well spoken, seemed genuine, interesting and seemed to be excited in talking with me. Then to top that off I got an email this morning. This is the most communication I have had before a date in quite awhile. And I have learned more about him in those two aspects of communication then on any coffee date I have had in the past. So, back to the question is it too early to be excited? I remember once upon a time when I was younger getting all excited and almost giddy before a date. When did that stop? And why does have too? Sure it can’t be the same reaction it was then I mean I am almost 40 now but why can’t I still get that same sense of nervousness and excitement and enjoy it? I probably shouldn’t post this because he knows I have a blog and can read it, but you know what fuck it. I am excited; I want to be excited about a date. I guess the universe can surprise you after all. Let’s keep are fingers crossed that it goes well!
ANNIE LENNOX need I say more - August 13, 2008
Sept 16th the Annie Lennox collection comes out with two new previously unreleased songs. There is also a DVD and I am hoping it has video's on it! I get excited over the simplist things sometimes.
